About Bob Welch

Bob Welch I am retired and like photography as a hobby, My interest in photography really started when digital photography started. I have never had any training in art or photography. Trial and error is mostly how I learned. I have read some books on photography. I love to process images in Paintshop Pro. The reason I started with Paintshop Pro is it was a program I could afford. With digital photography I can take pictures of anything and not worry about cost or mistakes. My goal is to take that perfect image. I like to creating image from images not so good. I seem to get direction from what I am creating, so I don’t always know what the end image will be. I enjoy artography because you can take a bad photo and make it into a nice piece of art. It seems that there are others who also like to do this, but they do not call it artography. No matter what it is called the results is a unusual piece of art. I think artography is a form of creating art from digital images. I hope that some of my images are good enough for people to enjoy. I really enjoy doing what I call Artography. My definition of Artography: There is creativity and skill in taking a photo any editing tools you can. Changing colors, adding other images, altering any way that your artistic skills and imagination takes you. The results may not in any way resemble reality. The making of an image whose purpose is to bring pleasure to people through their enjoyment of what is beautiful or interesting. I call it Artography.. Definition of art. The expression or application of human skill and imagination, typically in a visual form, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. Some forms of art also have a function. My definition of photography: What you see is what you get. You try to make a shot as near to perfection without any adjustments with software. There is creativity and skill in taking a photograph as well as creativity and skill in making one. A photograph should depict reality as seen by the camera and the eye of the photographer. Depicting true colors and objects within the image that was captured by the camera. Post processing is part of the process in making a photograph. To enhance a photo slightly, to bring image to be more like the photographer has seen, would be acceptable to remain a true photograph .Changing the colors, sky, shading, or adding pixels from other images is altering the image from the true captured image. this would be moving toward creating an image.
